After mother and baby arrive home, the questions about newborn care abound. Lin Cook has helped hundreds of families in this transitional time period. The typical types of services offered include:

• Newborn care questions: eating, sleeping, bath, care of cord/circumcision, skin, etc.

• Meal preparation

• Laundry

• Shopping/errands

• Care of other children

• Light daily cleaning - dishwasher, beds, straightening

​

 

The evidence of postpartum depression is substantially lower with support after birth. In-home postpartum care achieves this by answering questions from family members, bringing normality to the home, and ultimately providing more opportunities for rest. In addition, if other children are in the home, postpartum care attempts to maintain their normal routine allowing for a smoother transition for the entire family.
